After reading the 2 articles given for my assignment, I think that stress indeed has both advantages and disadvantages. Stress can help to improve one's results , both academically and non-academically. Stress through peer presure can help to increase, for example, your academic result by means of competition. However, excess stress can not only lead to mental illness but also emotional fear.Some people just couldn't take stress, thus, they chose to escape from it. This is done either by not doing things that make them stress or by choosing a one way trip into death's hands, just like what the article had given.Some, would resort to violence to ease themselves while others may consider self-ventilation as a way to release stress. Stress could also make one's lose concentration as well as the mood to do any other things. Besides, it also causes one's attitude to change dramastically, such as being extremely quiet when one's is usually active.
Stress originates from many sources, ranging from schools to work, to even the things we do in our daily life.Schools brings about stress by means of homework.This is usually given by anxious teachers that are eager to excel every students by means of academic. Furthermore, stress may also results when one is too preoccupied. For example, duration for CCAs are too long, resulting in insufficient time for preparation of tests. Besides, stress also occurs when one has uneccessary fear such as, having thoughts that one's test would fair badly.Lastly, stress also occurs when one's parents or teachers had have high expectations on them.The child would then overworked himself so as not to disappoint them.I personally think that parents should not have too high of an expectation for their child.This would only cause more harm to their child rather than helping them.Stress is like a psychological problem,it only occurs mentally.Therefore, there is no absolute cure for stress.
However, despite all these stress, there are indeed ways to confront stress positively.These ways include having a close friend to relate all your troubles to.Friends must also have a listening ear and be able to console them.Second, people facing stress could engage themselves in activities that are of their interest to keep them occupied.This would then cheer their mood up. last of all, we must learn how to minimize stress in our daily life as much as we can.We must always have a positive attitude towards our daily life as there are no such things as stress-free life.Thus,I conclude that stress are not considered harmful as long as you are able to thing and confront it positively.
